The Dutch speaking voice control has been working for several weeks for the testers of the Google Assistant and since this week also on Google Home. However, the speech assistant is not yet completely flawless.
A beta tester who could try Google Assistant in Dutch, discovered this week that the voice assistant is also working on his Google Home Mini. "What is strange is that I chose English as my language," he says. Google has tested the Dutch-speaking assistant for several months, but the company has already stated that it will be used on smartphones to beta and later on home-speakers.
The wizard does not work as perfectly as it does in English and still lacks certain functions, depending on the user of the test. For example, third-party applications do not work yet and the user does not receive a daily overview after wishing a hello to the assistant.
On smartphones, the voice sounded more artificial than the Home speaker, according to the tester. The voice assistant can, by the way, process orders in Dutch and English. It's unclear when Google officially brings Dutch support to the assistant, nor when follows the support for the local speaker.
