During the November patch, Google deployed security updates for serious Android vulnerabilities. This concerns a total of 36 security breaches, seven of which were classified as serious. Due to the worst vulnerability, a neighbor attacker could have executed arbitrary code as part of a privileged process by sending a specially prepared file.
Serious vulnerabilities can be found in Qualcomm's Media and Qualcomm chip source closed source components. In addition to Android vulnerabilities, Google informs you that 18 security leaks have been detected in the Libxaac library. This is a software library for media compression and decoding. Google has now considered the experimental library and said that it was no longer part of the Android production builders.
Google has also released separate security updates for Pixel / Nexus devices that fix three vulnerabilities. All Pixel devices running Android 9 will receive an Android 9 update as part of the November program. In addition to security updates, this update also includes updates and functional enhancements.
Correction Level
Google works with what's called correction levels, with a date representing the level of correction. Devices receiving the November updates will have patch level "2018-11-01" or "2018-11-05". Manufacturers who want their devices to get this level of hotfix should add any updates to the November Android newsletter to their own updates, and then distribute them among their users.
According to at least Google, Android device manufacturers a month ago about the vulnerabilities now reported and have been able to develop updates during this period. However, this does not mean that all Android devices will receive these updates. Some devices are no longer supported by the manufacturer's updates, or the manufacturer releases the updates later.
