THE HAGUE –
A grenade was found in supporters of the ADO Den Haag football club on Tuesday morning. He was hanging on the door. This confirms a spokesperson for the club opposed to Omroep West. The fans' home is located right next to the stadium on the Forepark in The Hague. The formation of the ADO team that was occupied in the stadium was interrupted.
The police had previously spoken of a "suspicious package", but then confirmed that it was a good grenade. The hand grenade is now out, on a bench, our reporter sees on the spot. Among supporters, a thorough investigation is conducted by the police. The demining service of the Defense arrived around noon.
An employee of the House of Partisans discovered the explosive Tuesday morning around 10:30. He warned the police. A spokesman for the green-yellow club says that he has no idea who has left the grenade at the fans.
Who is behind?
Photos from the incident show that three red crosses were painted on the facade of the supporters' home. This could be a reference to Amsterdam.
In February, a statue was coated with yellow and green paint, presumably by ADO supporters. That was De Dokwerker, an image reminiscent of the February strike in World War II.
Years of quarrel
It's been years since there's no conflict between ADO and Ajax fans. In the 1980s, major riots pitted supporters of both clubs. Fans of Ajax stormed the home of ADO supporters in 2006.
They were armed with umbrellas, canes, knives and Molotov cocktails, among others. This has been recently revised again. Politicians regularly resume the discussion and demonstrations also took place.
