Huawei said it wants to market a collapsible smartphone that can also be used with 5G networks. Huawei had already hinted that they wanted to launch a foldable smartphone.

That's why Richard Yu, Huawei's chief executive officer, is known in an interview with various media, including Digital Trends. He said that Huawei wanted to provide a foldable smartphone with the ability to establish 5g connections, but no additional detail has been revealed. Yu just wanted to say about the release that there is no commercial product on the market, so the development will probably take a while.

Huawei had previously mentioned before that he was working on a foldable smartphone. Then it seemed that the device could already be released next year. Yu did not want to confirm that this time. A test model with two screens has already been made, but the details are missing as well.

Recently, the Chinese manufacturer announced the launch of its new state-of-the-art device, the Mate 20 Pro. The smartphone will arrive on the market next month and will cost nearly 1000 euros. The Mate 20 Pro features an on-screen fingerprint scanner and 3D face recognition with infrared. There is also a cheaper smartphone that does not have these features, called Mate 20. However, both devices share the Kirin 980-soc.
