Kalypso buys rights to Commandos gamereeks – Gaming – News

The German publisher Kalypso Media acquired rights to the Commandos game series. The four games in the series were made by the Spanish studios Pyro. Kalypso also takes over rights to other Pyro games, such as Imperial Glory and Praetorians.

With the agreement Kalypso not only takes over the rights on the future use of the name Commandos; The company will also be distributing the old games in the series: Commandos: 1998 Behind Enemy Lines, 2001 Commandos 2: Men of Courage, Commandos 3: Destination Berlin 2002 and Commandos: Strike Force 2006.

Ignacio Pérez, the founder of Pyro, reports that the studio has long been looking for a candidate for resumption and that the future of the series at Kalypso is assured. Despite this, the new owner does not mention new games in the series. Pyro merged with Play Wireless in 2012, after which he began to focus on developing mobile games like Pyro Mobile. More new Commandos games have been used since then.
