The airline KLM cancels all direct flights to the Iranian capital Tehran from the end of September
The company has just announced that. Since October 2016, KLM flies four times a week from Schiphol without stopping at Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran.
All these flights will be canceled in two months. "Due to the negative financial results and prospects of Tehran's operation, the last flight of Amsterdam will leave on September 22, 2018 and September 23 in Schiphol," writes the company, as passengers with tickets after these dates will re-let or refund their money.
Economic sanctions
KLM also flew to Tehran between 1991 and 2013, but the flights stopped for several years due to economic sanctions against the country.
