Lawyer: "Trump knew about meeting Russians"

US President Trump knew in advance that his campaign team would meet Russians in the 2016 presidential elections, which could provide incriminating information about Trumps' opponent, Hillary Clinton. In fact, he gave his son Donald Jr. permission to participate in this meeting.

According to former Trumps lawyer Michael Cohen, CNN reports on the basis of unnamed sources. Cohen would be ready to make a statement on this subject to the special prosecutor Robert Mueller, who is investigating a possible Russian intervention in the elections.

Trump, his son and their lawyers have repeatedly said that Trump just heard about the meeting in the Trump Tower when the New York Times wrote about it last July. But Cohen, along with a few others, would have been present during the conversation during which Donald Jr., a member of Trump's campaign team, informed his father of the Russians' offer.
