"Leap Motion has managed to ruin Apple's takeover twice"

Leap Motion is a startup that deals with augmented and virtual reality. When the company's computer equipment is very strong and can be used for business and personal purposes, the commercial aspect seems to be low. Twice, talks were held with Apple before a takeover.

Business Insider today publishes a comprehensive report on takeover attempts. Over the last five years, Leap Motion has ruined Apple's two takeover attempts for reasons that are not entirely clear. But Business Insider, based on internal sources at Leap Motion, says the management had unrealistic expectations. The intention was to revive the mixed reality initiatives of Apple. Apple was planning to take over Leap employees and integrate it into its own ranks. But Leap's most important accessory, a device that could be used to translate manual signals into computer commands, did not count.

Holz was not interested in the acquisition. He told Apple that it was "more innovative" and that "its technology" was worthless. He also rented Android in the sky. In conversations with employees, Holz reportedly stated that he did not want to work for the devil and therefore rejected the takeover attempt. The acquisition was still of interest to Apple, but since no agreement seemed to have been reached, some employees in the augmented reality division had been hired. Last spring, Apple would still try to support Leap Motion. This time for $ 30 to $ 50 million. An official offer has even been launched and human resources packages have been sent to Leap employees.

But once again, the case fell to the water, this time because Holz and Buckwald felt that their business was worth more. The startup was valued at $ 306 million, but has virtually no turnover. At present, the company is conducting new acquisition talks – apparently not with Apple.
