Film of the week: Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again

You have to get used to the first scenes: the characters burst Every time spontaneously singing and the game is incredibly over-the-top. Just like in Mamma Mia! from 2008, the success of cinema that has not been applauded by critics, but certainly by the public. The musical stuffed with songs from Abba has raised $ 615 million and with such success, a follow up can not be missed.
Thus, songs and dances return to the Greek island of Kalokairi seventies. Sophie has rebuilt the hotel and everything is ready for the grand opening. She invited everyone, but a storm, relationship problems and the theory of work make the party a disillusion. While Sophie struggles with all the obstacles, we see how her mother Donna went on an adventure in 1979, met her three lovers Harry, Bill and Sam and fell in love with the island.
The flashbacks are only partially successful: the scenes between Donna – a new role of Downton Abbey's actress Lily James – and her friends are wonderful, but the scenes of love are just a little too hysterical, with young Harry as a weak point. But in the meantime, the scenes taking place in the present are becoming more and more fun. There, Donna's two girlfriends and old Bill, Harry and Sam emerge, and as in the first movie, they are a joy to watch. The times when the tough Brit Harry and the sweet part of Bill are among the best of the movie.
It's also clever how director and screenwriter Ol Parker ingeniously manages to connect all the scenarios between them. There are many characters who all have their moment and finally all are together. In this beautiful place, which definitely contributes to the magic of the film. Fans will undoubtedly enjoy the sweet romance, the summer images and the vibrant spirit between the old guard.
When Meryl Streep and Cher make their appearance, even the biggest enemies have a taste and it's hard to stay still with the swinging soundtrack, produced by Benny Andersson of ABBA. Streep and Cher finish the work: we plunge into a scene where we must keep his handkerchiefs ready, while the diva Cher meets all expectations with his small performance. If during the end credits the entire cast is played in the most elegant Super Trouper packages, you can not not leave the cinema with a big smile.
