NIJMEGEN –
Nuna was eliminated unnecessarily in the cup by Fortuna Sittard. After an excellent first period, the Nijmegen team gave a 2-1 lead and became 2-3.
The Nijmegen team started the cup match with a slightly adjusted team, partly due to injuries and small pains in the selection. For example, Kevin Jansen and Mike Tresor Ndayishimiye were at the start for the first time this season 
. In a minute, Ndayishimiye was already threatening after a nice action. Marco van Duin, for his part, made an excellent save on Lamprou. 
NEC takes the lead after a nice attack. Ndayishimiye played Jonathan Okita, the ball was extended to Terry Sanniez who hit him diagonally 
For a long time, NEC could not take the lead because after a furious violation of Josef Kvida, Fortuna got a penalty. And Mark Diemers knew what to do with that. NEC was close to 2-1 thanks to a determined move from Tom Overtoom. After an unsuccessful action by Kevin Jansen, the ball came to Sven Braken, who shot a good shot: 2-1. 
NEC continued to combine well and Joey van den Berg hit the post. Van Duin also made very good saves on a Diemers free kick and a shot from El Messaoudi. 
Second Half
After rest, Fortuna is lit without it becoming really dangerous. Only Stokkers had a chance, but again Van Duin was waiting. 
But the goalkeeper had no answer on a shot at the Stokkers intersection. Shortly after, Lamprou broke the bar. NEC had completely lost control. With substitute Brahim Darri and Anass Achahbar coach, Jack de Gier tried to give his team a new boost. 
An attempt at Achahbar has just gone wrong. Van Duin also had to intervene several times. The 2-3 were not illogical and fell via Hutten, where NEC's defense was not very beautiful. 
With Kvida as an extra striker, NEC tried to force a bit.
