Netgear arrives in the fall with the Arlo Audio Doorbell, a smart doorbell with which a resident can contact the visitor directly via the app Arlo and his smartphone or tablet.

As soon as a visitor arrives on the Arlo Pressing Audio Doorbell automatically establishes a connection with the owner's smartphone via the Arlo application. The latter can then choose to answer the call and speak to the visitor as if it was a normal phone conversation, or a pre-recorded message can be forwarded.

To make this possible, the doorbell is equipped with a speaker and a microphone. , so that the visitor and the resident can contact each other. The device works with two AA batteries, which can power the bell according to Netgear for a year.

If necessary, the Arlo Audio Doorbell can also be connected to Arlo Chime, which will also be released in the fall. This is a speaker that can be plugged directly into the socket and probably only serves to signal a signal when someone is pressing the doorbell.

The Arlo Audio Doorbell does not have a built-in video camera. To be able to see who is at the door, the device must be connected to a separate Arlo camera and wireless. According to the manufacturer, the doorbell will be broadcast in the fall, although it is not yet clear when the release will take place and at what price.
