Eating in Paris
The Dutch also encountered problems abroad. "We were eating in Paris and I wanted to pay, but it did not work," explains Thijs Verhoeven. "I tried my debit card and then my credit card at the restaurant and ATM, but nothing happened."
"The French were not the easiest, but we could explain that there was a fault in the Netherlands." Other guests of the Paris restaurant did not suffer from the malfunction. "There were only French, and they had a lot of money with them, I noticed."
"We ended up waiting for a moment." But when the fault lasted, they suggested to the restaurant that he should come back tomorrow to pay. "The bill was also included: 42. But he's still annoying."
Getting Water
For Remco Allertz who is on vacation in France with his wife and baby, the disturbance came at a very annoying time: his water was gone, he says.
