The seven hundred employees of the Dutch Railways assigned to services and security will receive a video camera in the coming period. Security guards can turn on the camera if a dangerous situation arises, for example if they have to deal with a person who has been repeatedly taken to blacken. The conversation is recorded and images can be used later, with camera images in trains and stations, perhaps by police and justice.

"In safety, every incident is one too many. The use of a bodycam is a nice innovation that contributes to the safety of colleagues and travelers, "says Marjan Rintel, director of NS operations.

The introduction of bodycams follows a test among Eighty employees, which shows that the camera's sense of security for SN passengers and employees has improved. This test complements a set of measures to prevent aggression against train personnel, for example by deploying zone officers at twenty stations and closing the gates in an accelerated manner to avoid black riding
