OnePlus 6T design at a much lower price

Oppo publishes this month the RX17 Neo in the Netherlands. This mid-range smartphone looks like two drops of water on the OnePlus 6T, but its price is over two hundred euros.

Official Oppo RX17 Neo: a lot of smartphones for little money

The Oppo RX17 Neo is virtually identical to the OnePlus 6T. So they both have a 6.4-inch screen with a notch the size of a drop of water for the selfie camera. They also have a dual camera and 128 GB of storage space. In addition, they will both be available in the Netherlands from next week

If you look further, there are important differences. For example, the Oppo RX17 has a headphone connection and still has to deal with a micro USB port. The Oppo device is equipped with the Snapdragon chip 660, a Qualcomm chip significantly less powerful than the Snapdragon 845 OnePlus 6 T.

On the other hand, the Oppo RX17 Neo is much cheaper. For the Oppo, you pay 349 euros, while the entry model of OnePlus 6T has a suggested retail price of 559 euros. Oppo and OnePlus, two hands on a belly

The great similarities are of course not a coincidence. Oppo and OnePlus are both part of the Chinese company BBK Electronics. OnePlus is now very popular and known in Europe, while Oppo is particularly successful in the Chinese market. However, since this year, Oppo has also been active in the Dutch market.

The company has already sold the Oppo R15 Pro and the Find X this summer, two relatively expensive devices. In particular, the Oppo Find X is blindfolded with a suggested retail price of 999 euros. The smartphone has a borderless screen with a retractable camera. Compared to both, the Oppo RX17 Neo is much more affordable.
