The caravan and motorhome are more popular than ever. "We have always been a traveling crowd, but we still looked weird when we arrived at the campsite with the caravan." Every year there are 2.5 million holidays in camping in the Netherlands and 2.7 million in abroad. The most popular destinations outside the Netherlands are France (1,093,000 holidays), Germany (348,000) and Italy (315,000). In the Netherlands, Gelderland is doing well with just over half a million holidays, followed by Overijssel and Noord-Brabant with more than 300,000 vacations.
