38 million people receive no help

According to the UN, 134 million people currently require humanitarian assistance due to natural disasters. But 96 million people also benefit from this help. It may be because the location is not easily accessible, that there is a conflict in the area or that there is not enough money to reach these areas.

Regions with many residents who are not officially registered and therefore not registered by the government known, are also ignored in many cases. This also applies to areas where the number of people living there is not clear.

The International Red Cross believes that more should be invested in the prevention and identification of natural disasters. For example, there should be better warning systems for tsunamis.
