Chasing vows
"A race like this takes 2.5 minutes and in that time you can take two or three cows out of the herd," says Patty. "She did very well, especially for her age, the cowboys here were impressed, and the other participants were between 15 and 18 years old, she did really well." Robin has not finished with the top ten, who continue in the final, but certainly not below. "A little in the middle."
Not surprising when you know that Robin practiced only four or five times in the Netherlands with a herd of cows. "You clearly saw the difference with participants who have experience with it," says Patty. "In the Netherlands we have dairy cows, you can not chase them, they all have beef cows here, they can suffer better." 
Barely English
Certainly in the state of Texas, many people cut. Patty has been with Robin and her husband on a real ranch. "Then you see real cowboys and things, very different from ours, the animals are always tied to the fence with the reins, the cowboys are sitting on the chewing horse, and you see them rolling on the Highway, open trailers where the horses are already fully dressed. "
Robin amuses himself, says his mother. And driving is good, even if she does not ride on her own horse. "Before the match yesterday, she was assigned a very sweet animal with which she really had a connection, although she could barely speak English, but she understands most of the commands correctly and knew how to follow instructions from the cowboys during the match! "
Only the Merry-Go-Round
In the Netherlands it can be hot, in Texas it sweats all day with temperatures around 40 degrees. Fortunately, they have air conditioning and fans everywhere. "Also for horse boxes yes," Patty laughs. Robin always has two part games and the adventure is over.
Or almost, because they stay three weeks in America. "I'm really looking forward to it, otherwise we would have seen the ride only in a week and a half, and nothing from Texas, and I'm glad we did it."
