Samsung introduced its first folding screen for phones. The user can enlarge the phone to use the device as a tablet.
The screen was displayed Wednesday at the Samsung Developers Conference. The arrival of the foldable phone was long overdue.
Samsung did not give the full design of the price of the smartphone. On a dark stage, the screen appears, called the Samsung Infinity Flex screen. The case of the device was covered.
The device can be folded like a phone, it is an unfolded tablet. According to Samsung, the screen can be folded "hundreds of thousands of times" without problems. More details have not been announced.
The screens will come into production in the coming months, we do not know when the phone will be on sale.
The Bixby voice assistant is open to developers
Samsung also announced Bixby during the presentation. developers and hardware manufacturers. Manufacturers can install the speech wizard in their own applications and products. As a result, Bixby must have more features and be more useful.
The wizard will be integrated with various devices in the coming years, such as smartwatches, tablets, refrigerators and washing machines. Bixby is also available in five new languages, but not in Dutch.
Samsung's new design phones
Samsung also announced One UI, a new design of Samsung's operating system phones. The design of the interface should facilitate the navigation and usability of the interface.
Phone settings have been simplified by grouping different options. In the Samsung email application, discussions only appear in the middle of the screen. For example, users with a large phone can easily select a call when they work with one hand.
A beta version of One UI is available this month in the US, Germany and Korea. As of January 2019, users of Galaxy S9, S9 Plus and Note 9 can begin.
