At the sexual harassment reporting center in the cultural sector, 26 complaints have been received since mid-June, reports Trouw. All reports are anonymous and none have been reported to the police.

Last June, 30 organizations in the entertainment sector decided to set up a phone line for # MeToo complaints, after the publication of some notorious cases in this region. The director and casting director, Job Gosschalk, fell into disrepute, as did director Ruut Weissman, actor and professor Jappe Claes and, more recently, conductors Daniele Gatti and Jan Pieter Leusink.

In Confidence

Since then, actors and other actors in the cultural sector can report creating an abuse and discuss it with confidence. The hotline does not announce who has intervened and to whom the complaints are addressed. When asked, it seems that several complaints about the conductor Leusink orchestra were received. He said last month that he viewed the complaints as gossip and lies, which result from trade disputes.

The director of the Dutch Association of Performing Arts, Yolande Melsert, said about the number of 26 reports: "We know that just things are playing in our areas, I do not find report in three months. "

Melsert regrets in Trouw that no one wants to report. "This can not be anonymous, people are afraid of career problems, for example because of the lower risk of self-employment." She wants the telephone line to be completed by a complaints committee that studies the reports and proposes a declaration or a settlement. The Ministry of Culture is invited to release funds for this purpose.
