Special DLC: For Honor – Marching Fire – The game For Honor has been quite well received by critics, but the players around the world have particularly seized this game with two hands … still fast enough for this that it was. Car Honor had the potential to become a great sports sports title, but for many people, it just was not interesting enough. Because of the many balance problems and technical problems encountered by For Honor in the beginning, the beginning was a bit difficult. The community is now quite large and with Marching Fire, Ubisoft hopes to attract even more players. In addition to the many improvements to the game itself, which are freely available to everyone via the latest patch, there is also the current Marching Fire expansion available for $ 3 in the PlayStation Store. Is this content worth its money?

Clearly Understand

Just to get started: The Marching Fire Update itself really helped For Honor to come. Besides the few frustrations related to the game, the graphics have also increased. For Honor looks much nicer than before with casual animations, sharper details in environments and characters, and there seems to be a little more color here and there. With that, the overall look & feel was treated very well and it made us happy to dive back into this game. For Honor, the game is not bad at all, but this type of improvement makes it even more fun and fun.

The new Breach mode is also added for free to all existing players. In Breach, two teams of four players face each other. One as an attacking party, the other as a party in defense. The goal is to invade the strong of the party in defense and thus defeat their king, who acts in turn as a kind of boss. With Breach mode, three new cards have been added to the For Honor repertoire. These fit together perfectly and fit seamlessly into the Breach fashion style of play. You notice that you need to manage new maps because they were built from the ground up on the improved engine that came with the Marching Fire update. It's very nice to watch.

A new faction has also been added, namely Wu Lin. They are Chinese fighters, as you know from the movie The Great Wall for example. Not martial artists, but just soldiers like all the other characters in For Honor. Within this faction, there are four new heroes to unlock, but when you buy the Marching Fire extension, you can start immediately. One of the criticisms is that the release of these heroes without the purchase of the extension can take a considerable time, which actually requires you to buy the extension, if you wish to pursue with these heroes soon. . Maybe Ubisoft would have adorned these heroes temporarily for a free game, so that the existing player base can decide for itself whether it is worth making money. As has already been indicated, this expansion costs three points and, in our opinion, it is not a bid price. The question is therefore whether the content exceeds this price. Ubisoft offers a lot of gratifications with the update. With the purchase of content, you can start immediately with the four new heroes of Wu Lin and you will have access to another new mode, namely Arcade. Arcade can be played alone or with a few friends, always against a computer-controlled enemy. There is certainly something fun to experiment here, if you do not mind grinding.

In Arcade mode, you play five fights in a row, where enemies always have special modifiers. This can mean that their attacks on you cause more damage, that they can repair themselves or that you have to face two enemies at the same time. In addition to these modifiers, there are also different degrees of difficulty. What does it give you? Booty, of course! Special armor, beautiful shields, greasy weapons, everything to customize your heroes. It's nice to spend some time in Arcade mode to make your character a real tough guy, but once you've gathered all you want, the urge is not really to continue .

Conclusion

For Honor – Marching Fire is a very successful (free) update, but a somewhat disappointing (paid) extension. We congratulate Ubisoft for all that it has made available free to the players of For Honor and any improvements made can be applauded. We find thirty euros for Arcade mode and the direct release of four heroes rather than a little money. Our conclusion is therefore: Do you still have honor? Then quickly get the new update and see how much this game has evolved, but rather wait with the purchase of the extension. With all that Ubisoft has now made available with the free update, the extension is just too fine.
