Speed does not take Lassana Faye into training camp and even placed the back on the transfer list. Last year, 20-year-old Faye played eighteen league games under Henk Fraser.
De Gelderlander reports. In addition to appearances in competition, Faye also played five games in the Europa League. His many minutes of play were partly due to the injury of Arnold Kruiswijk and the unsuitable Alexander Büttner.
New coach Leonid Slutsky, however, has a lot of choices behind: Büttner is fit and Speed already boosted with Max Clark. Thus, there is no place for Faye in Arnhem. Another factor is that Faye decided in February not to sign a new and improved contract. Speed then explained a one-year option in his contract, which means he's still connected to Speed until July 2019. If Speed still wants to earn Faye's money he must now be sold.
