Syria: Several Israeli missiles fired from the air

Syrian media reports that Syrian air defense at the T4 air base in Homs province struck an Israeli fighter and shot down Israeli missiles.

The Syrian news agency SANA says that there is only material damage. "Our anti-aircraft weapons thwarted the Israeli aggression," a source told Reuters news agency. "We attacked one of their planes and forced the rest to leave."

Previous attack

The alleged attack occurs during a Syrian offensive against rebel groups in the Golan Heights, near the border with Israel. On Friday, the Syrian army conquered another important border crossing, which caused major concern in Israel.

In April, seven Iranian soldiers were killed in an attack on the T4 base, which was also allegedly attacked. Lebanon, Iran and Russia held Israel responsible for this attack at the time.
