According to the Press Office of the Turkish State Anadolu the Uzunkopru train with more than three hundred passengers was en route to Istanbul. Five cars derailed at the Sarilar location. How it could have happened is not known

CNN Turk reports that the train derailed as a result of a collapsed bridge. This information has not yet been confirmed by the country's authorities.

Emergency services are now on site. Because the area is difficult to reach by car, assistance is slowly starting. Governor Mehmet Ceylan reports that military helicopters were sent to the scene of the accident to pick up the wounded and transport them to the hospital.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan sentenced relatives to a statement. He also says that he hopes the wounded will recover quickly.
