The Boijmans collection can be seen temporarily elsewhere Interior

This concerns the Customs and Taxation Museum, the Chabot Museum, the Kunsthal, the Maritime Museum, the Rotterdam Museum, the Stedelijk Schiedam Museum and the Wereldmuseum. This collaboration is an initiative of the Droom in Daad Foundation, which aims to promote art and culture in Rotterdam. Behind the foundation is the wealthy entrepreneurial family Van der Vorm, former director of the Rijksmuseum Wim Pijbes, who is its director.

The 450 works by Boijmans Van Beuningen are exhibited in ten exhibitions. The first is "Picasso on Paper" in the Kunsthal in February

In July, Boijmans Van Beuningen announced the opening of an annex in the Zuidplein shopping center during the renovation works. The exhibition space must be located on the third and fourth floors of the old V & D building. It is not known if this plan will continue now that other museums will exhibit part of the collection . Next Thursday, the museum will hold a press conference in which future projects will be explained.

The museum will be closed for three to four years due to renovation. The costs are estimated at 110-150 million euros.
