"The global delivery of smart watches has increased dramatically" Now

[ad_1]

The supply of smart watches has increased by almost 67% in the past year compared to the same period of the previous year. A year earlier, that number was six million. Manufacturers do not usually provide figures for smart watches themselves.

Apple still holds the largest market share, at 45%, although this share has decreased. In the third quarter of 2017, the company still had a 60% market share. The company recently released the Apple Watch Series 4.

Apple has delivered more smart watches over the past three months, or 4.5 million units, compared with 3.6 million a year ago . Apple's loss of market share is mainly due to competition from Fitbit and Samsung. Fitbit took second place behind Apple, with 1.5 million smartwatches and a 15% market share.

Samsung has an 11% market share and has delivered 1.1 million smartwatches in the last quarter. According to Strategy Analytics, the new Galaxy Watch is selling "reasonably" due to hardware improvements and "aggressive marketing".

Garmin comes in fourth with 8% and 800,000 copies delivered. Fifth place is occupied by the category "other smartwatches". The study did not include fitness tracking devices or other portable devices.
