Hargrove's latest album can be heard alongside jazz giants Michael Brecker and Herbie Hancock. Hargrove also had his own group, The RH Factor.

Hargrove was a regular guest at the North Sea Jazz Festival. He made his first appearance at the age of seventeen, and then returned there almost every year.
