The certificate also states that Apple is using a new version of Bluetooth, namely version 5.0. This is not an improvement for the audio quality, but probably for the range and the life of the battery. Apple has received the certificate bearing the numbers of type A2031 and A2032: it is probably the left and right ears.
More rumors about the new AirPods are not confirmed by the new Bluetooth certificate. In this way, the ears would become water resistant and reduce the noise. They can also get sensors to measure heart rate.
