GOUDA –
The problems on the track around Gouda will last until at least 20:30 tonight. This brings the NS back.
Due to an interrupted airline, train traffic around Gouda was completely flat for several hours during the morning rush hour. Several trains have been in service since 08:00 and the NS has put stop buses.

The cause of the problems is an overhead line cable destroyed by a passing train, reports ProRail spokesman Coen van Kranenburg. That happened on the road between The Hague / Rotterdam and Gouda. This also resulted in the stopping of rail traffic between Boskoop and Gouda

Update 08.00: Mechanics are trying to remedy the problem as quickly as possible, but we still do not know how long the problems will last. Since 08:00, half of the rail traffic has resumed with caution, reports ProRail. According to the NS, it will take about 11:15 to restart all trains.

Update at 09:45: The NS reports that bus connections are used between Gouda, Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel, Cappelle Schollevaar and Rotterdam Alexander. Buses also run between Gouda, Waddinxveen Triangel, Waddinxveen, Waddinxveen Noord and Boskoop. It is still expected that problems will not be resolved until 11:15 am

Update at 11:30 am: According to the SN, it will not be until 11:30, but at least 16 hours before problems are resolved. Some traces are usable and stop buses are used, but a solution to the problems still awaits hours.

Update 13:15: Problems persist for much of the day. The NS reports that train traffic has been disrupted until at least 23 hours.

Travelers complain about extra travel time and bypass routes. Others, like the alderman Thierry van Vugt, take this opportunity to seduce travelers stranded in Gouda to visit the city:
