The specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9

We still have to wait over a month for the official unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, but thanks to a reliable source, we can already tell you what you can expect from the device specifications. Unfortunately, there are not many big surprises, because in the hardware field it is largely a copy of the Galaxy S9 +, which was released earlier this year

Let's start with the design. The waterproof and dustproof case consists of a front and a rear glass with an aluminum frame. On the left we find the volume buttons with a Bixby button below (not yet Dutch support), while the on / off button is placed on the right side. At the bottom, there is an opening for the S Pen, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB-c port. The Galaxy Note 9 measures 162 x 76.4 x 8.8 mm, which makes the device a fraction thicker than its predecessor (8.6 mm). There is a good reason for this, because the Note 9 has a larger battery of 4000mAh and the S Pen now has its own battery and Bluetooth connectivity.

The Galaxy Note 9 is powered in the Benelux by Samsung's Exynos 9810 -soc. The cheapest model has 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, while there is also a variant with 8 GB of RAM with 256 GB and 512 GB coming. The memory can be expanded with a microSD card on all models. The OLED screen is 6.3 inches and has a resolution of 2960 x 1440 pixels with an aspect ratio of 18.5: 9. The maximum brightness is 1150 nits.

Samsung has re-equipped the phone with a dual camera at the back, with the fingerprint reader placed under the module instead of next to it. This is a camera module with two 12-megapixel sensors that are identical to the Galaxy S9 + sensors. However, the overall performance of the camera has been improved through new algorithms and improved image stabilization. In addition, note 9 brings different updates for AR Emoji.

Note 9 runs on Android Oreo and as you can expect the device is also updated to the new Android P. The appearance of the interface is largely the same and new features have been added for the new S Pen. The recommended retail price of the cheapest model will be around 1000 euros.
