The Swedish Parliament voted against the candidacy of center-right leader Ulf Kristersson as the country's prime minister. Of the 349 members of the Riksdag, 195 voted against the leader of the moderate party.

This prolongs the political stalemate that followed the parliamentary elections in early September. It was already very doubtful that Kristersson has enough support. After the elections, he tried in vain to forge a coalition. Social Democrats have also failed to form a coalition.

The plans of the center-left and center-law were supported by alliances of parties without majority, but no one wants to rule with the right-wing populist Swedish democrats. The center-left bloc and the center-right bloc are about the same in the legislative elections of 39%.
