The women we are here must leave the canal house

The We Are Here group members will soon have to leave a building they squatted at Leidsegracht.

The judge ruled that the canal house could be vacated, according to the public prosecutor De Telegraaf . A group of women are currently living in the group of refugees in the building.

There are sixteen women from Somalia, Eritrea and Ethiopia, among others. When they have to leave, it has not been announced yet.

The deadline is determined in consultation with the municipality and the police. Women should leave voluntarily.

Small inconvenience
The owner of the canal house declined after the We Are Here group moved into the building. The property must be collected b eight weeks after the deletion of this declaration. Where women go then is still unknown.

According to locals, the group gave little inconvenience. Yet, a neighbor is happy that the action is over.
