These are all new emojis for iPhone and iPad Now

Apple released iOS 12.1 Tuesday night. In the update of the operating system for iPhone and iPad, new hairstyles, animals and foodstuffs have been created.

With the update, the iPhone and iPad receive more than seventy new emoji digits included in the 11.0 version of Emoji. Emojis with red, gray and curly hair and bald heads now exist

. In addition, superheroes, villains and a number of new animals, including a peacock, a badger, a swan, a llama and a kangaroo, have been added. There are also figurines including a suitcase, a broom, a roll of toilet paper, a skateboard and a lab coat.

The new emojis had already been added to Twitter, Android 9 and the Windows 10 October update. However, many Android devices have not yet been updated to version 9 and Windows deploys the October update more slowly after problems with the system.

Companies vote for new emoji

Facebook and WhatsApp must add the new emoji. Many tech companies are designing their own emojis. That's why the same characters look different on Android, for example, on Facebook.

The new emoji added to the offer are determined by the Unicode consortium. This partnership ensures that letters look the same on the Internet, regardless of the browser.

All major technology companies are members of the consortium and vote regularly for the new emoji they want. Unicode then gives a description of what emoticons should look like, companies giving their own interpretation.
