Three members of the 50Plus Seniors' Party Council went out on their own tonight. The party chairman, Geert Dales, wanted to table them at an additional meeting, but the three members of the board of directors did not wait for the vote.
Dales had already announced in the invitation for an additional meeting in mid-November that he wished to dismiss half of the board members. He hopes to put an end to quarrels and shenanigans within the party. Due to poor cooperation, preparations for provincial and European elections are not proceeding well.
On the 50Plus website, mention is made of the criticisms made by Dales to the three members of the board of directors. One person almost never attended meetings but sent intimidating emails, the other criticized the board too much and the third preferred to talk about it again and again.
The Blessing
Reason why Dales spoke tonight asking for the blessing of his supporters at the extra meeting to dismiss the three. But it has not happened so far. Henk Jan Verboom, Helena Bosch and Marc van Rooij spoke.
The three members of the board of directors are in turn completely ready with Geert Dales. Helena Bosch calls someone who prefers to drive alone and who is very stubborn. "One could say calmly, narcissist."
According to Henk Jan Verboom, Dales is not a good driver. "A real director gathers strong people around him and can accept criticism.A board of directors must stay in the background, not in the foreground."
Second Crisis
The current crisis of the party is the second of this year. In June, seven of the eight members of the Board of Directors mobilized following a conflict over the management style and work methods of several board members. After their departure, Geert Dales was elected president of the party.
