A German tourist was killed after being dragged by a "mini-tsunami" near the Spanish islands of Mallorca and Menorca.
The 52-year-old man was surprised by a wave of one and a half meters this morning. He then swam with his wife and two children on the southeastern coast of Majorca.
Bystanders out of the water
The whole family was swept away. Mother and daughter came out of the water unscathed. Father and son were taken out of the water by passers-by, but the father seemed to be dead
A Dutch tourist in Mallorca shared video footage of the mini-tsunami on Twitter
We had a mini tsunami with us in the North today on the island. They also call this #rissaga in Spanish. It happens sometimes. Everything went well but it's still a weird show !! #Mallorca #PuertoDeAlcudia #tsunami pic.twitter.com/JDu33WDiYI
