The collective agreement for the staff of the seven university hospitals in the Netherlands ended early this year. Employers and unions have since stumbled on a new deal. Shortage of Staff

The biggest problem, says Boskamp, ​​is the complexity of care: "People get older and often have multiple problems, and we also do complex interventions in old age. The result is, for example, that the nurse can provide a maximum of four patients to her service. In the past, there were six. Moreover, according to her, the hospital suffers from a lack of people. "We notice in all layers of the hospital that there is a shortage of staff."
