Daley Blind returns to Ajax. The Amsterdam team has reached an agreement with the Premier League club on the transfer of the defender / midfielder, as announced Monday night. Both clubs brought out the news.
The transfer involved an amount of sixteen million euros. This amount can go up to a maximum of 20.5 million bonuses, making it highly likely that Blind will become the most expensive player in the history of Amsterdam. Blind returns to the club he left in 2014. After a good World Cup, he made the transfer to United for about eighteen million euros, which was then headed by Louis van Gaal. Blind went through the Ajax Youth Academy as early as the age of eight. He debuted on December 7, 2008, in a duel with FC Volendam. The following season he was leased to FC Groningen. The counter climbs to 143 official matches in the first Ajax team.
Update 17/7 12h30: The transfer from Blind to Ajax is finished Tuesday afternoon. Ajax reports this in a press release and via the official channels. As announced, the 28-year-old defender signed a contract until mid-2022 in Amsterdam.
