Update Makes Airplay 2 Available on Sonos Speakers – Image and Sound – News

Audi manufacturer Sonos releases an update to support Airplay 2 on several of its new speakers. Each installation with one of these speakers can therefore use the functions of Airplay 2, including the availability of the Apple Siri digital assistant.

With Airplay 2, customers with a speaker or a compatible sound bar can among other things send the iPad or Mac directly to a Sonos device, reports the manufacturer. It is also possible to view the image on an Apple device and hear the sound via the speaker configuration. Airplay 2 also adds the digital assistant of Apple, Siri. Customers can at the same time continue to use the Amazon wizard.

Support for Airplay 2 comes on four of the manufacturer's devices: the Sonos One, Beam, Playbase and the second generation Play: 5. Sonos is the first external manufacturer to support Airplay 2. Apple released Airplay 2 with iOS 11.4 at the end of May
