Victim Zaandam bridge accident accessible, mayor greatly shocked

The couple walked when it opened on Prins Bernhardbrug in Zaandam. An investigation is still ongoing as to how this could have happened.

The man fell into the water in the accident, where he was then taken away by three passersby. He was immediately resuscitated and transferred to hospital in critical condition. His wife fell on the bike path and was also injured. She was taken to the same hospital.
