VVV was to miss Roel Janssen at De Kuip, but his left-back was back Saturday night at the base. After more than twenty minutes, however, Janssen was (apparently seriously) injured in a duel with Lisandro Semedo and had to be changed. Fortuna midfielder, Lars Hutten, who had to be replaced after a tackle from Danny Post, shortly after

The match was not so great until then, but came back after Half an hour: Jerold Promes broke a long ball and Finn Stokkers shot the guests with conviction at 0-1. The equalization has not been long though. After a start from Jay-Roy Grot, the ball came to Peniel Mlapa. The striker has always met goalkeeper Alexei Koselev, but Ralf Seuntjens used the rebound: 1-1.

The VVV even took a break with a center. Mica Pinto wanted to escape a long touch of Moreno Rutten, but he involuntarily delivered a decisive pass on Mlapa. The Togolese Germans left Koselev without a volley of chance.

At the beginning of the second half, Fortuna still had a prospect of a result, but immediately gave a goal. Goalkeeper Lars Unnerstall led the ball on a long ball, Jonathan Opoku. Mlapa was earlier than Koselev and had a 3-1 score for slipping into the goal.

He found himself facing a center of Lazaros Lamprou and left Unnerstall without any luck. The success of the Portuguese seemed to mark the beginning of an eventful final phase unexpectedly, but VVV was holding on with snapping and strangling.
