The new function can be activated from Group Scheme under Group Information in Group Settings. Users of such a group conversation can always reply with a private message to the administrator, but the rest of the chat remains clear.
With the latest update, it is also easier for users to inform their friends that they have a new number to have. In Settings, the Edit Number option is now available under Account. Users can choose by contact who they want to inform of their new number.
Both features are deployed in the latest update for WhatsApp for all platforms.
