Chinese phone maker Xiaomi introduced the Mi Mix 3. The smartphone has a selfie camera that slides out of the case.

The Mi Mix 3 has virtually no screen edges, Xiaomi announced on its website. In addition, there is no notch in the top of the 6.4-inch amber screen, which has a resolution of 1080p. To use both front cameras, one part is pushed upward from the camera. The lenses are processed for 24 megapixel photos.

Such a telescope camera was also to be found this year in the Chinese Oppo Find X. The difference is that the Xiaomi solution works magnetically rather than with a motor, although not clear what the benefits are. According to Xiaomi, the camera has at least one life span that translates into 300,000 time changes.

On the back, the camera has a dual camera lens in the case itself. With that, 12-megapixel photos can be made. There is also a fingerprint scanner.

The Mi Mix 3 has a button on the side for the Xiaomi Speech Wizard. For the moment, he only speaks Chinese.

Also a version with 10GB of memory

The input version of Mi Mix 3 offers 6GB of memory and 128GB of storage space. This version costs around 415 euros. There is also a variant with 10 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, which costs 630 euros. The phones are equipped with a fast processor Snapdragon 845.

The device will be marketed in China on November 1. Next year, a 5G version of the phone will be available in Europe. Nothing is known about a Dutch publication date and price.
