Have you always had this passion for animal rights?
I have not always had this passion for animal rights. In 2012, I changed my life. I watched a documentary about dolphin hunting in Japan, which changed my view of the world. After watching this documentary, I signed up for the dolphin hunt monitoring campaign. I have also worked with animals in five different places of the world. In addition, I became vegan.

What are you doing to defend animal rights?
I work as a volunteer at the Seal Center, where I participate in the re-education of sick and injured seals. Seals in Europe are currently facing many problems. All EU countries have other laws to protect seals. In the Netherlands, the seal population is stable, so we need to determine which seals we can absorb to rehabilitate and those that are not. But in Germany, a hunter pulls on a seal because he does not believe in rehabilitation and in Denmark there is no refuge for sick seals. I think that there should be a plan common to all countries of the European Union telling us how they should treat seals in the future.

Friends and others in my area are asking me more and more about what they can do themselves to help, for example, the environment or seals. Anyone can do anything, no matter how big. Yes, of course. I still vote in Germany. If you do not agree with something, you should look for someone in politics who agrees with you. You can then vote for that person. The government has to do something about that by establishing new rules and laws. If you want something to change, you have to do something yourself.
