Rumor has it that the 2019 Apple iPhone could have a different camera configuration than the iPhone XS, including by adding a third snapper. Now, a new report claims to have details on what this new design will look like.
The alleged renderings of the iPhone XI have surfaced and show a triangular rear triple camera configuration with a flash, all wrapped in a square camera case. The renderings are based on CAD documents and have been published by OnLeaks and CashKaro.
It is said that the back of this 2019 iPhone is made up of a single piece of glass, including the camera hump. This seems to help make the transition from the back of the phone to the camera case smoother and sloping rather than letting the camera casing protrude from the back of the phone as in renderings we we saw earlier this year.
Other improvements that would have been made to the iPhone XI include a notch and slightly thinner flanges. Just like the iPhone XS, the screen itself measures 5.8 inches. There is a lightning port at the bottom of the phone rather than a USB-C port like on Apple's new iPad Pro tablets. The mute switch located on the side of the device has also been redesigned.
It is said that this leaky iPhone XI measures 143.9 x 71.4 x 7.8 mm. To compare, the iPhone XS measures 143.6 x 70.9 x 7.7 mm.
According to the leaks we have seen so far, the next iPhone will have a design similar to that of iPhone X and XS, but the big addition will be a third rear camera. We do not yet know exactly what features this camera will offer, but since the iPhone XS already has a standard camera and a telephoto lens, it's possible that the third camera on this iPhone XI is a snapper at wide angle.
