Aggressive malware was recently discovered affecting more than 10 million Android users. GriftHorse Trojan malware attacks through phishing techniques and premium service scams that help it to spread and increase its infections. This malware has successfully stolen hundreds of millions of dollars. Worse yet, applications containing this malware are available on the Google Play Store.
Cybercrime on mobile devices is on the rise. Hackers transfer their malicious strategies to mobile devices and target these user terminals for financial crimes. This latest tactic exploits mobile apps to infect the device.
At a glance, the GriftHorse Trojan malware appears harmless. GriftHorse would ask the user for permission to access calls, the internet and other related functions. The real attack occurs months later, when users are billed for a premium service they never subscribed to.
According to Zimperium zLabs, the Android Trojan attack has been campaigning since November 2020. The malicious apps that distribute this malware can be found in both Google Play Store and third-party apps.
Users are cautioned to be responsible for their own safety and to avoid falling victim to the GriftHorse Trojan.

These are just a few of the many infected applications available on the Internet.
Zimperium zLabs also warned that the GriftHorse Trojan exists in more than 70 countries around the world. The infected application quickly changes the language and displays the content based on the user’s IP address.
Due to its elusive nature, the cybercriminal group behind the GriftHorse campaign has received a steady cash flow of illicit funds from their victims, generating millions in recurring income every month.

Hackers attack cars with $ 22 device
Hackread also warned owners of a new strategy that breaks a car’s wireless security system.
Breaking down a car’s wireless security system is a common strategy; however, these malicious actors could actually do the trick at very low costs. They would only need $ 22 of antennas, transmitters and batteries!

According to Hackread, security researchers at Qihoo 360 said, “The attack uses both devices to extend the effective range of the keychain. You work in your office or shop at the supermarket, and your car is parked outside. Someone is slipping. near you, then someone else can open and drive your car. It’s simple.”
