New Anthem update adds more loot and more bugs

Stop me if you've heard that before. Anthem gets a new update. The changes made to the new update all look promising. Then, after a closer inspection, all the improvements do not work as expected and some previously fixed problems are interrupted again.

AnthemS was there before and after today's update, he's back, at least temporarily. The Elysian chests are the biggest addition. They now sit at the end of each mission of the Fortress. Any player with an Elysian key, deserved by completing daily challenges, opens one and recovers special vanity items inside, including new stickers, fabrics and emotes.

Unfortunately, the introduction of this new award also seems to have upset the existing rewards. Some players, including myself, have concluded that completing a mission Stronghold no longer guarantees at least one masterpiece drop as planned.

On Twitter Game community leader Jesse Anderson wrote that BioWare is currently investigating this problem, in addition to another strange bug: other players could collect your loot for you. Normally, loot is instantiated with the player and invisible to everyone. If they walk on it, nothing happens.

As players advance AnthemThe final game, as it exists, has been filled for everything except the rarest booty, and now, as Kotaku covered yesterday, actively avoid picking up something of less value because it is more painful to handle than it is worth it. Ironically, these same players are bombarded with unnecessary loot notifications while party members accidentally pick it up instead.

There are also issues with some of the new vanity items that do not appear immediately in the customization menu after the missions. My first Elysian treasure was the Warning Markings sticker, but I had to close the game and restart it, as suggested by Anderson on Twitter, before the sticker was an option to choose from. It does not help that these problems happen right after the main producer of the game, Ben Irving, clarified on weekends this new armor, which players have desperately needed since their launch, would not be part of the update.

It's a shame, especially because the patch as a whole is a step in the right direction. In addition to the new Élysées chests, 1.04 also adds the possibility of replaying the scenario missions on Grandmaster's difficulties, which reduces the monotony of spending free hours or repeating the same fortress missions over and over again. It is now also possible to access the Forge where players specify their Javelin from anywhere in Fort Tarsis or in the launch bay, without having to go through a loading screen.

The patch also improves a ton of Javelin abilities and components as well as five new ones, including Bloodlust, which almost doubles the melee damage for 10 seconds after each enemy killed by a melee attack. The last list proposed by BioWare is one that allows you to fly underwater now. It is important to find joy in the small pleasures of life, especially for Anthem players.
