To celebrate the launch of the iPhone 11, 11 Pro and the Apple Watch Series 5, Apple is preparing an array of updates for the retail business. In addition to the grand reopening of Apple Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, many Apple stores around the world will reopen or move to significantly larger spaces on September 20th.

As is customary for new products, the majority of the 508 Apple stores have set special schedules for the day of the launch of the iPhone. You can visit the Apple Retailer Web site or the Apple Store app to check the opening time of your local store. Many sites will welcome customers at 8:00. September 20th.

Some customers will have a little more to look forward to next week. Below we have detailed the Apple stores that will move into new spaces or reopen after renovations. This article will be updated if other sites are announced. If you attend the opening of a store on launch day, we would like to see and share your photos.

Apple Bridgewater

Apple's classic store in Bridgewater, New Jersey, closed in January for a major expansion project. The former Bridgewater Commons has been completely rebuilt and merged with an adjacent Abercrombie & Fitch store, doubling the width of the store. Apple Bridgewater opened for the first time in October 2004 as one of Apple's short mini-stores. The initial store closed and was moved to a larger space in November 2008.

Apple Mall of America

In August 2001, the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota, hosted the fourth Apple store in the world. Previous renovations have removed the original theater and black facade of the store, but the space has hardly changed in the last decade. Now, one of the last remaining examples of Apple's retail architecture will give way to a considerably larger space in the Western Mall of America. Since the end of last year, Apple is renovating the spaces made available by the closure of Tucci Benucch and the transfer of H & M.

Last summer, we suggested Apple take a big step forward with the opening of a new store in the Mall of America's north wing. While Apple has finally chosen the Western market, this decision will be just as welcome. Next door, a brand new Aritzia store has just opened. Canada Goose, Arc'teryx and SJP are also new additions near Apple. The entire mall wing was redeveloped in 2014.

Like Apple Bridgewater and most contemporary Apple stores, the new Mall of America location will feature a Today at Apple video wall and a forum for expanded access to creative sessions. Both sites will share a set of interior design elements recently found at Apple Altamonte.

Apple Highland Village

Apple's Highland Village store in Houston, Texas closed temporarily on July 28 to allow Today to benefit from upgrades and a new interior. The architecture of the store is almost identical to that of Palo Alto and Santa Monica, both remodeled last year. The completed Highland Village store may feature an independent video wall near the center of the space due to its front and rear entrances. Avenue displays, a private conference room and indoor trees can be added depending on Apple's future ambitions for the location.

Apple Omotesando

In Tokyo, Japan, the iconic Apple store, Omotesando, is currently undergoing a very public renovation that will finally be revealed. The lower level of the building was closed in May to add Avenues and a green wall. Once completed, the store's upper level was closed and covered with decorative motifs referring to the store's initial opening in 2014.

Sandwiched between the opening of Apple Marunouchi on Sept. 6 and Apple's move to Fukuoka at the end of September, Apple Omotesando will return with what Apple calls "creative updates" and puts more emphasis on Today at Apple. New wallpapers have been published on the advance store web page.

Apple Central Park

Apple Park Central in Guangzhou, China, opened on January 28, 2016, making it the world's last Apple Store built according to a classic design scheme. To adapt to the situation of contemporary stores, Apple added Avenue shelves on the ground floor and installed a forum and a video wall at the top level. The changes are set to be revealed on the day of the launch of the iPhone. The banners covering the windows of all the upper floor were adorned with an illustrated Apple logo borrowed from the special event last October in Brooklyn.

Apple encourages reopening with the slogan "A new experience at the next level, coming soon."

Apple Fifth Avenue

Of course, the main event on September 20th will be the grand reopening of Apple Fifth Avenue. Closed for almost 3 years, the store's iconic glass cube is making a comeback over a massively reconstructed and redesigned space below. Apple has announced the reopening of its September 10 keynote at Steve Jobs Theater and will celebrate the new store with a range of exclusive Today at Apple sessions.

If you're attending a store opening, find something interesting, or attend a great Today at Apple session, we'd love to see and share your photos. To follow 9to5MacThe retail guide details the latest news from the Apple Store.
