Atlantic City's nine casinos saw their gaming revenue increase to nearly $ 267 million in May, an increase of 22.5% over the previous year.

There were two other casinos in operation in May compared to last May, which largely explains the increase.

The gold nugget experienced the largest increase, up 10.3% to $ 31.2 million; Resorts increased 4.1% to $ 16.1 million; and Caesars rose 3% to $ 22.9 million.

Tropicana experienced the largest decline, down 14.6% to $ 29.3 million; Borgata is down 7.1% to 61.3 million; Harrah's fell 6.7% to $ 25.6 million and Bally, less than 1%, to $ 16 million.

Internet gaming has generated more than $ 38 million, up nearly 58%.

Casinos generated revenues of $ 5.5 million in sports betting.
