ORLANDO, Fla. – Wizards, rejoice! The Harry Potter phenomenon is expanding at Universal Orlando Resort.

The park announced Thursday that its new Harry Potter roller coaster will open on June 13.

According to a tweet, the merry-go-round will call Hagrid's Magical Creatures Moto Adventure.

Roller coasters are being built in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade, which is located in Universal's Islands of Adventure.

According to icFlorida, the runners will join Hagrid and fly beyond Hogwarts Castle on an exciting roller coaster ride that plunges into the trails of some of the world's most rare magical creatures.

Midway Mayhem blogger Daniel Leavelle said the riders would remain standing without a harness on the shoulder.

"You will see trees, animations, scenes of difference, fire effects and smoke," Leavelle said. He said fans of popular books and movies will also see familiar characters.

"Hagrid is of course in the name, so I'm sure he's going to play a major role – I would not be surprised to see some of the other characters in the franchise," Leavelle said.

Leavelle added that he would not be surprised to see a smooth opening in May, but Universal did not confirm it.

Universal is booming. In January, WFTV.com said for the first time that the park seemed to be making way for new roller coasters in the Jurassic Park section of Islands of Adventure.

At the same time, internal documents show that the park is planning a much larger expansion of newly purchased land on the other side of I-4. The park was unprepared on the 540 acres of land located near Lockheed Martin, but internal documents sent to the Orlando Park Shop blog suggest that the park wants to become a weeklong vacation destination.

There is no timetable for either project.
