Apple is expected to present its new iPhone 12 lineup as early as next month. Ahead of this announcement, new images today offer a closer look at the 5.4-inch, 6.1-inch, and 6.7-inch sizes of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro. This time around, the footage is from a case maker gearing up for this fall’s hardware.
The images of today, which pass by HaAppelistim offers yet another close look at the new flat-rim design of the upcoming iPhone 12, and even a comparison of the new design’s similarity to the iPhone 4.
The iPhone 12 lineup is expected to consist of four devices spread across three different screen sizes: a 5.4-inch model, two 6.1-inch models, and a 6.7-inch model. The 5.4-inch iPhone 12 and one of the 6.1-inch variants should be the low-end models, while the other 6.1-inch model and the 6.7-inch should be the options. iPhone 12 Pro Max ”.
As we explained in the past, these dummy iPhone units are starting to surface every year around this time. Dummy units are used by case makers to design their new accessories ahead of the iPhone’s official announcement, as evidenced by the cases seen in today’s pictures. In fact, a search on Amazon reveals that a few select case makers are already starting to sell their iPhone 12 cases, although we are still a few months away from the official announcement.
Of course, the key feature these pictures don’t show is the smaller notch rumor. Because these dummy units are designed for case makers, they don’t always take every design change into account. Since the notch size does not affect the design of the cases, the dummy units used by the case manufacturers usually do not focus on these changes.
The same goes for the camera hardware on the back. The differentiator between this year’s iPhone models will be camera technology, as the two low-end models will feature a dual camera setup, while the iPhone 12 Pro line will feature a triple lens design with a LiDAR scanner on the back. These dummy units do not take into account the different camera features on each iPhone 12, simply because those features do not affect the design of third-party cases.
