New lawsuit alleges Subway ‘Tuna’ is not actually tuna

Something fishy is going on at Subway, according to a new lawsuit. Or rather, there is something not entirely fishy enough. According to the complainants, there is no tuna in the tuna sandwich, which is, as the name suggests, a tuna-based sandwich.

Subway’s menu is pretty self-explanatory about what’s supposed to be in the sandwich: “flaked tuna mixed with creamy mayonnaise then topped with your choice of crisp, fresh vegetables.” But, the Washington Publish reports, a recent lawsuit in California claims that, in fact, “the ingredient billed as ‘tuna’ for the chain’s sandwiches and wraps contains absolutely no tuna.” In fact, according to the lawsuit, it is “made from everything but tuna”, based on independent laboratory tests which revealed that the so-called tuna is rather “a mixture of various preparations which do not constitute tuna, but which were mixed together by accused of imitating the appearance of tuna. A lawyer for the plaintiffs, however, declined to elaborate on what he is, only what it isn’t, which, again, is tuna.

The plaintiffs – two so far, though their attorneys hope to have the lawsuit certified as a class action suit, potentially opening it up to thousands more – are suing the sandwich company for “fraud, intentional misrepresentation, unjust enrichment and other federal and state claims. laws ”, the Publish Explain.
